Balloting for Awami Villas was held on Friday June 30 th 2006 at Safari Club Rawalpindi. Admiral (R) Mohammad Shariff , Former Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee and Chief of the Naval Staff was the Chief Guest and presided over the ceremony which constituted huge gathering of Bahria Town's Home Plus card members and other guests who had come to participate from all over the country.

Addressing the ceremony Admiral Mohammad Shariff pointed out that low income population which constitutes major part of our country still remains deprived and most hard hit in terms of day to day survival due to increasing costs of living and their limited resources. Owning a personal home remains a far fetched dream for them, this dream although far fetched but remains an inseparable and integral part of their soul and is often lived through deep sighs of grief .

Realizing their predicament and deep sense of deprivation it was Malik Riaz Hussain , CEO Bahria Town who came forward with a relief package for the middle income group through Awami Villas project which remains and would be recorded as a land mark in the real estate development history of our country .

Admiral ( Retd ) Mohd Sharif further stated that Awami Villas and other similar projects of Bahria Town are such phenomenal initiatives of excellence in the field of real estate which vividly speak of dedicated vision and selfless endeavors on part of its CEO , Malik Riaz Hussain. Through these sincere endeavors Bahria Town has been successfully able to place basic facility of a home within the reach of a common man and has also substantially contributed towards reducing unemployment in the country.

Admiral ( Retd ) Mohd Sharif observed that one of the unique features of Bahria Town 's Projects is the involvement of world's most renowned professionals which hail from Malaysia , Turkey and Australia . These professional have been engaged at high costs as town planers, developers and designers. He specifically mentioned Awami Villas Project in this regard pointing out to the audience that Awami Villas though a low cost housing scheme yet it is to be developed by employing world's latest construction technology mastered by Malaysia and under the physical supervision of Malaysian experts . This makes Awami Villas a unique project in Pakistan

Malik Riaz Hussain , CEO Bahria Town thanked God almighty for affording Bahria Town an opportunity for holding balloting for Awami Villas which he stated is a step forward towards realization of his ambitions of placing a decent home within reach of a common man belonging to low income groups of the country. Malik Riaz Hussain empathetically declared that a home has remained and will always remain most wanting and most basic human need regardless of all social or financial status. He said that it has always been his most passionate preoccupation, resolve and determination to help his fellow countrymen realize their dream of acquiring their own roof within a price structure that they can afford. He said Awami Villas is a project and pursuit in that direction.

The successful candidates of the balloting were overjoyed and thanked Bahria Town for the provision of this project.
